About Wii Games: 'Silent Hill: Shattered Memories' Reviewed

About.com    Wii Games
In the Spotlight | More Topics |
  from Charles Herold

This is a Silent Hill kind of week; I've got both a review of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories plus a FAQ on how to make it through the game's so-called "Nightmares." Also, for anyone who has a Wii and is wondering, what is everything I could possibly want to make my Wii experience complete, I've put up a guide to creating the ultimate Wii.

Right now I'm playing Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers. More proof that designers can create gorgeous-looking Wii games if they put their minds to it. Hope to have it reviewed by next week, although I have no idea how far I am to the end, so we'll see.

About Today: 6 Ways to Recycle Your Christmas Tree

About.com    Today
In the Spotlight | More Topics |
  from Jen Hubley
We had a really beautiful Christmas tree this year, but to be honest, you'd never be able to tell that from the tree-skeleton standing in our living room right now. Most of our former tree is now a carpet of pine needles on the floor. It's very Charlie Brown Christmas, and a sign, perhaps, that it's time to take the old tree down.

6 Ways to Recycle Your Christmas Tree
My trouble is, I always feel bad just tossing out the tree. It seems sad to see it sitting on the curb next to the trash cans and someone's busted snow shovel. I'd feel better about recycling it.

How to Decorate for Winter
The next question is, what do you do with that space where your tree used to be? You can, of course, fill it up with stuff. (The only real, true law of nature being that there's always more of that.) Or you can use the space to make your home cozy for winter.

Best Houseplants for Dark Corners
Nothing perks up a room like a plant or two. My place doesn't get a lot of light though, especially in the winter, when the sun shines for 45 minutes a day. These houseplants are hardy enough to deal with the darkest season.
