From Jacci Howard Bear, your Guide to Desktop Publishing
Voting ended on Tuesday for the Readers' Choice Awards and we'll be announcing the winners on March 15. I've been up to my eyeballs in Photoshop and Illustrator, first with St. Patrick's Day goodies and now with Easter. More to come but check out the Easter Colors I've assembled so far.

Doing Pro Bono Right
Donating your time and skills for a good cause or something you feel strongly about doesn't mean the client / designer relationship is thrown out the window. A contract is not just a formality reserved for paying customers. Read about the right way to approach pro bono desktop publishing, graphic design, or Web design jobs. If you've got something to add or you disagree with any of the advice offered, feel free to sound off in the comments.

The Colors of Easter
Easter is on April 24 this year. Will you be coloring any virtual Easter eggs or crafting greeting cards to celebrate Spring? Get a head start on by exploring some of the shades of sky blue, pastel pink, or grassy green that get a thumbs up from the Easter bunny.

Spread some Easter cheer. Share The Colors of Easter on Facebook or Twitter or via Email.

Drawing Vector Images
Ran across some really nice portraits done in CorelDRAW. You can see them here and learn more about the basics of vector drawing (all those curves and nodes and things can be quite confusing). In the comments I'd like to hear about the specific vector software that you use and how you use it -- just for creating artwork or do you use an illustration program to do page layout too?

Web Cookies
I was having a cookie craving recently but discovered I was missing a few key ingredients so I couldn't whip up a batch real quick (yes, mother, I can bake cookies that don't come in a frozen tube). Web Design/HTML Guide Jennifer Krynin has some cookie recipes for Web designers (alas, no chunky chocolate chip). Find out how to add cookies to your Web site, whether or not they are dangerous, and the right size for a cookie.
