From Charles Herold, your Guide to Wii Games

Only one game review this weekend, but that's alright, because with the release of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, no other game matters anyway. I wanted to finish this game before I reviewed it, but after about 40 hours of play I was still at least 6 hours from the end and had a deadline to meet (self imposed; I wanted my review to come out at least a day before the game did). I really want to finish the game, but I've let many other games pile up this last week so now I have to put Zelda aside and get through that pile. When the games dry up in January, I'm going to finish the thing.

Besides a couple of news stories, I'm also re-including my news item about Walmart's $100 Wii, so anyone who doesn't have one and wants to play Zelda can do so as cheaply as possible. Of course, if you're subscribed to this newsletter you probably already own a Wii, but you may have a friend you feel needs the Wii and a copy of Zelda.

What will I review next week? The new Harry Potter Lego game? One of the two fishing games I have on hand? I think today I'll play the latest game in the Active Life series, because it's cold in my apartment and all that jumping should warm me up.

"The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword" Reviewed

The life of a Wii game reviewer is not always a happy one. I have played more bad mini-games than I care to think about while watching the other consoles pump out hugely entertaining games. But for the last couple of weeks I have had the best job in the world, playing The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. This is the game everyone with a Wii has been waiting for, and everyone without a Wii will be envious of. So read my review of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and then go out and buy it. And if you have to, buy a Wii as well.
