One year from today is March 1... or is it February 28? Either way, February 29 is a quadrennial date that originated all the way back in 45 BC, and has since garnered plenty of superstition and folklore.

Leap Year History and Folklore
Ladies, if there were ever a day to propose to your man without stealing his proverbial thunder, today is it--and you won't get another chance until 2016.

Who Invented Leap Year?
Let's do it Jeopardy-style: This Roman emperor is credited with first introducing the idea of leap year in 45 BC, with the assistance of his astronomer, Sosigenes.

Leap Day Bundles of Joy
Technically speaking, over 5 million people worldwide celebrate their true birthday just once every four years. Does that mean somebody born in, say, 1956 is only 14 years old?

How to Make a Leap Year Cocktail
Shake up your Leap Day with this classic cocktail made from gin, vermouth, orange liquer, and a splash of lemon juice.
