From Jacci Howard Bear, your Guide to Desktop Publishing
This week's newsletter is all about February holidays or special occasions. We've just had Super Bowl Sunday and today is my son's birthday (oh wait, that's not a what most of you would consider a holiday is it?) Of course there's Valentine's Day but there's also President's Day, Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras, and we have an extra day this month -- February 29 is leap day.

Did you know that February is American Heart Month (how appropriate)? It's also National Cherry Month and National Grapefruit Month and National Wild Bird Feeding Month. Our Family Crafts Guide has more February holidays and crafts.

On a totally different topic: Quite a few spam comments have been slipping through the filters lately. Most are obvious junk because they are totally off-topic and show up on very old blog posts. However, this one is a topic I address from time to time (typos/proofreading) but I found it quite amusing. Or, maybe they were trying to make a point? "naalrtluy like your web-site but you need to check the spelling on several of your posts. A number of them are rife with spelling problems and I in finding it very troublesome to inform the reality on the other hand I'll surely come back again." Should I delete it or let that one stay?

DIY Valentine's Day Cards and Crafts
Sure, there are all kinds of Valentine's Day cards and gifts you can buy. You can hardly walk into a store this time of year without being assaulted with hearts and flowers. But for something more personal, make it yourself. And these heart-drawing tutorials, script fonts, and romantic projects in this list aren't just for February. Use these resources for birthdays, anniversaries, Mother's Day, and more.
