One of the definitions for collateral is "Additional but subordinate; secondary." Collateral materials are additional items that support a company's product line or advertising efforts. Brochures are perhaps the most common.

Apple founder Steve Jobs died yesterday at the age of 56. About.com Guide to Tom Nelson has the statement from Apple's board of directors and an excerpt from Jobs' inspiring address to the graduating class at Stanford University in 2005.


The Role of Desktop Publishing in Creating Collaterals
A flashy ad may get the consumer's attention but the use of collaterals such as brochures, marketing calendars, and even holiday cards sent out to customers can seal the deal or at least serve as a constant reminder that the company is out there ready to do business. Do you do collateral design?
