From Jacci Howard Bear, your Guide to Desktop Publishing
A while back I created a collection of materials on QR codes -- what they are, how to use them, and ways to make them a little more attractive. For the most part those articles and tutorials were geared to the business use of QR codes. This week, we're getting up close and personal with some entertaining and oddball ways to use those QR codes. Do you have smartphone-savvy group of friends or family? Try out some of these and let me know what you did.

Check out our new entries to the glossary in the sidebar. Two should be very familiar but raise your hand if you know about the hypho.

Fun Ways For Individuals to Use QR Codes
Put 'em on a nametag (that works for business or personal codes), send secret messages, or try one of these other ideas for a more personal take on QR codes. Read Up on QR Code Ideas for Personal Projects.

Bibical Quotes
Last week we asked for your input on quoting from the Bible. In the comments, Sheryl tells us about the Christian Writer's Manual of Style, gives some formatting advice, and includes this interesting little tidbit: "It is not necessary to use an ellipsis at the beginning or end of a Scripture quote even if you are not using the entire verse. Only use an ellipsis if you are omitting words *within* the quoted material."
