I know I'm pretty spoiled living in NYC with much of the world's food available on the spur of the moment. Heck, I can even have it delivered. And while not all food is exotic if you live where it comes from -- come on, it's still pretty cool and exotic.

I remember the first time I had Pad Thai. I simultaneously felt like I had discovered something no one else had, and how had I been missing out on this for so long? It was a weird feeling. Anyway, this recipe shows how easy it is to make.

Beef Tagine with Potatoes
The first time I had Moroccan food was in Paris. And what a place to have it! This recipe is pretty easy to follow (even for me) so you'll have no problems. But be forewarned, we're talking about almost 4 hours of cook time (so it's not a quickie-after-work kind of meal).

Bet You've Never Had Knolselderijstamppot
You can learn a lot about a region's geography and climate based on the main ingredients in some of these recipes. And before you get all Swedish Chef on me, these are Dutch recipes. The Dutch are from the Netherlands, not Sweden. I had to look that up. Because as the Swedish Chef would say: Writer Is Der Dum Dum.

Food Guide for Tasmania, Australia
What an eye opener. Well, at least for me. Tasmania isn't a place I think about and certainly wouldn't have ever thought about it needing a food guide. I mean, whiskey, wine and honey? It sounds fantastic.
