I know some of you have been fans of the About.com Desktop Publishing site for many years. Some of you may be new to the site. If you're a regular on Facebook you can be a fan over there too. I recently (as in Tuesday afternoon) set up a fan page for About.com Desktop Publishing. Although my blog feeds appear there, I'm also using the wall there to post other interesting links and comments related to design and such that I don't blog about here and don't tweet about on Twitter. Place is rather bare bones at the moment so I'd love to have you drop in and drop off a few comments. It's an informal sort of hangout so no need to get all dressed up to come visit. :-) I also recently upgraded to Windows 7. Over there in the sidebar I've got a few things to say about some of the little utilities you'll find there. In fact, some aren't so new. Plus learn about more applications you may find useful from our Graphics Software and Web Design Guides.

Wow. Those 'Get a Mac' ads have been running since 2006? About.com Macs Guide Tom Nelson talks about the newest ads and he's got a poll for you. "Do you think the PC vs. Mac series of 'Get a Mac' ads are getting a little long in the tooth or are they still effective?" I don't know if they're driving more Mac sales. Maybe they are. | Viewing Adobe Design Achievement Award Winners 2009
I don't want to take anything away from the winners -- some impressive work -- but it would sure help if whoever at Adobe designed the winners list didn't make me have to jump through hoops (or strain my brain) just to check out the talent. Is it just me or is that animated presentation less than intuitive? And if it is just me, let me know about it in the comments. I've been called worse things than clueless... read more
