One of the best ways to learn a new skill is to practice it. And the best way to get better at a skill you already know is, you guessed it, to practice. So why not join me in becoming a better designer by joining the Design a Day challenge. Spend 15-30 minutes on a design of any type. I am focusing on drawing, but you can do photography, graphic design, painting, stamping, collage, or even Web design. The goal is to design something every day and share your efforts with the rest of us. Over the course of the year I'll share with you my efforts as well as ideas for what you can design.

Before You Can Adjust Your Typography You Need to Know Some

Poll: Do you decorate your website for the holidays?
Back when I worked at NETCOM, I used to manage the "Homeport" and for Halloween one year I decided to create a "Haunted Homeport". Random customers would see the same content as the normal homeport, but decked out for Halloween. I added all the spooky elements: blood, ghosts, zombies, black cats, and so on. But I admit I was a little afraid to do it for everyone, thus the randomizer. When our Vice President came over to my co-worker's cube demanding to know "what was up with the Homeport" I had to chime in and admit that I was the one who had done it. I thought my job was done for. He turns around and, beaming, says "I LOVE IT! Why didn't you set it up to be 100% of the time rather than having to reload it at random?" And so we started decorating the Homeport every Halloween. Vote Now View Results
