From Charles Herold, your Guide to Wii Games

This week I review Skylanders: Spyro's Adventures, a very fun action adventure game with an interesting - and potentially very expensive, gimmick. I also review The Hunt: Trophy Showdown. It's the first hunting game I've played, and it was better than I expected.

My big news is I'm now playing The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, which so far is just as good as I expected it to be. But the game's not out until November 20th so I have a while before I need to post a review. In the meantime I'll have to find something else to review for next week, even though the lure of Zelda is so very strong.

"Skylanders: Spyro's Adventures" Reviewed
Skylanders: Spyro's Adventures is a really fun game. It is also potentially the most expensive game you will ever play, unless you have the self discipline to eschew the myriad add-ons offered for the game. To learn all about the game, read my review of Skylanders: Spyro's Adventures.

"Bass Pro Shops: The Hunt - Trophy Showdown" Reviewed

When people call video games "murder simulators" I find it ridiculous. Underneath the guns and flashy graphics, modern video games are essentially nothing more than PacMan; an abstract presentation of an activity that revolves around good eye-hand coordination. It recently occurred to me that my prejudice against hunting games was akin to the attitude of anti-video game activists towards first person shooters. So after resisting hunting video games for years, because I think hunting is creepy, I decided to recognize my own hypocrisy and review Bass Pro Shops: The Hunt. Is killing virtual deer worse than killing virtual aliens or virtual thugs? No. Did I enjoy my first hunting game? Read my review to find out.
