The overall theme for the month of May was typography. And I didn't even get to all the goodies. I still have more typography topics that are almost but not quite ready to show you. They'll have to wait til June. Somewhere along the way candy wrappers became a major secondary theme this month with a lot of wrapper template makeovers and several all new designs (and lots of candy on my desk tempting me everyday). But that's not all that May offered up. Here's a run-down (including items that didn't make into earlier May newsletters).

Featured Free Fonts in Use
I showcased several free fonts, ranging from calligraphic to geometric in style plus four Mother's Day fonts with fun graphic images to show them off.

Typography Topics
Getting down to the nitty-gritty and sometimes just items of curiosity, our practical typography tutorials for the month covered spaces, numbers, and Windows Character Map. On the fun side, I introduced some cheesy and educational font-related games.

The Candy Wrappers and Other Templates

  • Baby Announcement Candy Wrappers has two all-new styles and a major remake of some older templates. In addition to wrappers there are also some matching card templates in two of the collections.
  • Candy Wrappers aren't just for babies. These new and refurbished wrappers are for birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, and holidays. Along with the popular Publisher and PNG formats, there's a small group of templates for Serif PagePlus.

Quick Tips Save Time and Money
Some are short and sweet and others a little more detailed, but these tips cover everything from ink choices to paper selection to how to choose a book.

Adobe InDesign Tutorials
Are you new to InDesign? While there is no shortage of InDesign tutorials out there, sometimes you have to dig through a lot of stuff of little interest to find what you need. I've started organizing those tutorials into related topics. The first two collections are:
