Two of my daughters are currently stuck on purple -- purple sheets or rugs or clothes. Do all teens go through a purple faze? I know I did way back when. But then it was because all the fan mags told us that purple was Donny Osmond's favorite color. (This was pre-Dancing With the Stars Donny... back when we all swooned to Puppy Love and Go Away Little Girl... yes, I am that old.)

Getting High on Purple
In my color meanings pages I include a section on language - phrases that use the color. In the case of purple, I included purple haze and mentioned that it was a name for a kind of marijuana. A reader objected saying it was not a kind of marijuana but a name for LSD. Well, actually, dear reader, it's both. So we're both half wrong. But I added the LSD reference.
Purple haze - state of confusion or euphoria, possibly drug-induced, specific type of potent cannabis (marijuana), specific type of LSD
But hey, there's more to purple than drugs. Read more on the power of purple.
