About Today: Is Windows 7 Worth the Bother?

If it were up to me, I would never, ever upgrade my software, or replace my computer. In fact, I'd probably still be writing with my college word processor, the one that was essentially a typewriter on steroids, with a teeny screen. (OK, not really, but only because it didn't get the interwebs. Otherwise: Totally.)

I'm not what you call an "early adopter" is my point. So when new operating systems emerge, I think long and hard before I upgrade.

This, however, might get me on board with Windows 7: "Windows 7, unlike every previous version of Windows, didn't have increased hardware requirements to run smoothly. And on the same hardware, it runs significantly faster than Vista, in my experience."

 
How Much Does Windows 7 Cost?
I still think the OS fairy should stop by my house and drop off new versions of things, if they're so much better. But then, it's been pointed out to me that I'm a big grump about that sort of thing. So if I can't get upgraded for free, I'll settle for knowing exactly how much money I'm supposed to spend.
