From Jacci Howard Bear, your Guide to Desktop Publishing
There are several terms in desktop publishing that sound the same or are spelled the same but have very different meanings. Don't let the terminology trip you up. And I've also added a fairly new "made-up" but probably familiar word to the glossary: crowdsourcing. Explore what it means for graphic design and then tell us what it means to you.

Desktop Publishing One Word at a Time
Do you know a calendar from a calendar? Sometimes you want your design to bleed but nobody wants to bleed-through. And your signature isn't always your John Hancock. Are you down with the difference between debossing and embossing? Take time to brush up on your desktop publishing terminology.

Acronyms and Abbreviations
Those of us more accustomed to US letter size sheets may know that A4 is sort of equivalent but do you know how they compare and how A4 relates to A0 and to C6 envelopes? Read any good EULAs lately? From the A paper sizes to WYSIWYG here are some common and not-so-common letters you may want to learn.

Crowdsourcing
crowdsourced designIt's not exactly outsourcing. It's not exactly collaboration although some crowdsourced projects are a collaborative effort (think Wikipedia). Crowdsourcing pops up in many forms and crowdsourcing design is a bit of a sore point for some. But not all. Do you love it? Do you hate it? Have you changed your mind about crowdsourced design since it first came to your attention? Vote in the poll, read more about it, share your experiences.
